IXL: Fraction,Decimal, and Percentage Questions

  • How do you feel about fractions, decimals, and percentages? (What is confusing, what is easy?
I feel pretty confident about the problems that were displayed on IXL although i still have a lot to learn until i reach the level i want to of knowing fractions, decimals and percentages. Most of the problems were quite easy and the ones that had to do with multiplication weren't as challenging as others. One thing i really have to learn is how to convert % into fractions and decimals and so on. As i mentioned previously i still have a long way to go when it comes to learning this to be completely sure about this topic.

  • What are you plans to improve these skills?

I will work on IXL frequently and will finish all my homework as well as try to go deeper into the subject then most people. I will as many questions when i see that i haven't understood what we were talking about and will ask those questions until i get it! Of course i won't hold the class back because of my questions so i will also during my time (If the teacher accepts it) will come ask.

  1. Matija - it is very important that you DO ask questions in class. 9/10 student questions help other students and the teacher to explain things better. Asking questions is part of good learning and good teaching. Promise me you will always ask questions when you are confused about something.

Converting % to fractions is quite easy really - you just have to divide the number by 100 if you have 65% for example and then simplify. If you have 65.5% you need to divide by 1000 to account for the extra decimal place.

IXL is great. We will also use Khan Academy and the links on Moodlic.

Matija, please have one of your parents to comment on your posts as I have done here. You could also just type in your parent's comments yourself.
